Ponic Pavilion
College Assignment - "Design a product or service that promotes sustainability"

Purpose
At the time when I was assigned this prompt, I was really invested in hydroponics, and aquaponics. This form of regenerative farming was incredibly exciting and I was surprised the idea was not more widespread. It's a method of using fish to fertilize the water being constantly fed through a vertical farm. At the very same moment, the grow bed is filtering the fertilized water so it can be fed back into the fish tank.
This is a highly efficient system that could be run on a small solar panel array to power the necessary pumps. This array would easily fit on the roof of the salad bar. The salad bar is an addition with the task of immersing visitors at the pavilion by selling produce from the farm. As an additional feature, I proposed stations around the ponds to purchase fish food, including the community even further.
Model
This small scale model gave me a great perspective on how my installation would look with people walking around it and it's spatial impact in a park.
Building it was incredibly satisfying, triple checking my laser cuts and and getting every part to fit snuggly together. Adding these figurines was vital to establish the scale of this installation, and it certainly brought the model to life.
